Jack’s world championship results at Silverstone
2015 (MotoGP): qualified 16th, did not finish
2014 (Moto3): qualified 8th, finished 6th
2013 (Moto3): qualified 4th, finished 7th
2012 (Moto3): qualified 24th, did not finish
Hot spot: For all of Silverstone’s high-speed blasts and iconic corners such as Copse, Maggotts, Becketts and Woodcote, Vale (Turns 8-9) is a slow-speed turn where plenty of passing happens on the brakes – and can be treacherous in the wet, as Jack (and good mate Cal Crutchlow) found out the hard way last year …
Silverstone fast fact: The British GP returned to Silverstone after a 24-year absence in 2010, and reverted to the National Paddock and pits in 2013 after using the ‘Silverstone Wing’ used by Formula One, which meant the race started on the straight before Abbey corner. Woodcote is now the last corner, the super-quick Copse the first.
Jack in the world championship: 14th with 42 points.
