Jack’s preview: Jack’s season has been struck in neutral of late; after scoring 49 points in the first five races of 2018, he’s managed just 12 in six races since ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix, and comes to Silverstone after a pointless race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria last time out. Jack admitted after the last round that he was struggling in confidence and that the Austrian race was a “low point” after running wide and out of the points just over the halfway stage, and the perfect time for a resurgence is at a circuit where he’s overdue for a good result. Jack has finished one place outside of the points the past two years in England, and the horsepower of his Ducati should hold him in good stead down the lengthy Hangar Straight at the windswept former World War II airfield this time. Rear grip issues saw him 10 seconds off the points-paying positions at Silverstone 12 months ago.

Jack’s Silverstone highlight: Jack made Q2 here in 2016, while his most convincing showing came in Moto3 four years ago, where he qualified on the third row and finished four seconds off the win in sixth.
